Our
most popular service is the cleaning, polishing and lacquering of brass,
copper, silver and
pewter. Regular items include door and cabinet hardware, fireplace
accessories, lamps & chandeliers, beds, teakettles, candlesticks,
sconces and the occasional sink. Refinishing of lighting fixtures
always include rewiring.
Naturally, a bright finish is not always desirable, in which case we
can produce brushed, satin and antique finishes from soft muted tones
to a deep oil rubbed bronze. Whether we simply polish and lacquer
a doorknocker or an elegant nineteenth century chandelier, each item
is given the same careful consideration to proper restoration procedure.

A white metal statuette lamp, c.1925, repaired and finished
using an applied antique bronze.
Bronze crane fountains refinished with a
reactive dark brown patina for exterior garden use. The patina is
enhanced with multiple coats of brown oil, then a permanent
lacquer applied along with a coat of clear wax. They should hold up
for years to come.
